Mongolian Girl

Jul 31 2011 by Bryan (Permalink)

Mongolian Girl

About half of the population of Mongolia lives a nomadic lifestyle without plumbing or electricity. Although many live at or below the poverty level, they never complain or beg for assistance - they are too proud of their culture, history, and nation. Most children are able to go to school, and most families are able to sustain themselves from the land and livestock. They want nothing more than to raise their children in the best possible environment, and work hard to live the best life they can.

The Freedom to Create Prize celebrates the power of art to fight oppression, break down stereotypes and build trust in societies where the social fabric has been ripped apart by conflict, violence and misunderstanding.
