Collective Lens: Photography for Social Change was designed to bring awareness to social issues through photography. The site was created by integrating PHPBB, a popular web-based forum software package with custom written PHP code. Additionally, Wordpress, a popular blogging platform, was also integrated to provide the ability to easily manage the articles and blog for the site.

Users can register and then upload their own content to the site, which is then displayed in a number of different formats based on categories and timeliness. Each user can also have a profile and identify friends, thus creating a social network.
